We’ve spent a lot of time here talking about the impact machine automation will have on our profession. The bottom line is this: Machines will soon be able to do a lot of jobs that accounting and finance professionals are doing right now.

It’s a website called “Will Robots Take My Job?” Simply choose your occupation, hit “Enter,” and behold your future.

I chose “Editor.” The website told me I’m “totally safe.”

My boss, Tom Hood, a CPA, chose “accountant.” The website told him he is “doomed.”

Of course, he’s also a CEO, which the website said is “totally safe.”

I guess it depends on your point of view.

Find out what your future holds here, then consider this: You’ll be safe as long as you’re doing work that machines can’t do.
