Expired – Dodd-Frank and the Banking Industry (Controller Series)

While nearly 7 years have passed since the Great Recession, economic and political uncertainty have continued to plague business decision-making. The roles and responsibilities of CPAs and finance professionals, meanwhile, has continued to expand. This course is part of a series of short courses that will explore key economic and regulatory issues that will have a substantial impact on financial and accounting decisions for years to come.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • At the conclusion of the course, the student will be able to:
  • Identify the role of the Federal Reserve
  • Identify and analyze key provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act
  • Identify and analyze the Basel III Accords

MAJOR TOPICS

The course will examine and walk-through key elements and provisions of the Dodd-Frank reform act, as well as the Basel III Accords. Special focus will be given to the role of the financial professional in analyzing and forecasting the potential for increased risk in banking relationships due to regulatory reform.
