Ah, the annual performance review. Almost everyone dreads this ritual as we have institutionalized giving and receiving feedback. We save up our comments and documentation about a person’s performance, and then, like a big cat ready to pounce, we spring a year’s worth of “constructive criticism” into a half-hour meeting.
