Tom is on a mission: to make accounting and finance professionals more future-ready. As the founding CEO of BLI, his leadership involves exploring, researching, and sharing the trends and skillsets that are affecting businesses on a global scale, positioning BLI to create new content that empowers people to thrive in the face of exponential change.
Tom founded BLI in 1999 and has been consistently recognized as one of the most forward-thinking thought leaders in the industry for more than two decades. He has been named Second Most Influential Person in Accounting every year since 2011 by Accounting Today magazine, inducted into the Accounting Hall of Fame in 2015 by CPA Practice Advisor, and appears at countless conferences, keynotes, and events all over the world.
Prior to and during his leadership at BLI, he served as President and CEO of the Maryland Association of CPAs, and was instrumental in a national effort to identify key future-ready skillsets as part of the CPA Vision Project. He’s been leading the profession forward ever since.
