While nearly 7 years have passed since the Great Recession, economic and political uncertainty have continued to plague business decision-making. The roles and responsibilities of CPAs and finance professionals, meanwhile, has continued to expand. This course is part of a series of short courses that will explore key economic, financial, and regulatory issues that will have a substantial impact on financial and accounting decisions for years to come.
This one hour course will examine the ability of companies to grow through acquiring distressed assets in periods of economic downturn. Specifically, the role of the financial or accounting professional will be examined, with key emphasis on pitfalls to avoid when acquiring another company/organization.
