Join us to honor women leaders who have made significant contributions to the accounting profession (and the men who actively support them) at this special awards ceremony.
The MACPA is excited to again participate in the AICPA Women to Watch Awards, highlighting the accomplishments of women in the CPA profession and demonstrating to emerging female leaders that success is not out of reach. The awards are sponsored by Association’s Board-appointed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Task Force in an effort to create important conversations about the issues and resources we can bring to member firms and companies.
The Women to Watch Awards are given in two categories: Emerging Leaders and Experienced Leaders. Emerging Leaders are those women who are up-and-coming stars in their organizations, while Experienced Leaders are those who have established their roles as leaders in their organizations by advancing to the highest levels of management or ownership, and by mentoring those following in their footsteps.
The Men Who Get It Awards are given to those men who actively support women in the workplace and know that a diverse and inclusive workforce makes good business sense. While every item is not required for consideration, nominees will be judged on the following criteria:
- Champions the case for diversity and inclusion
- Supports the development of programs for women’s advancement and mentors women, both formally and informally
- Provides frank career advice to women
- Advocates flexible work arrangements
- Sets an example for others to overcome unconscious bias by being open-minded about providing opportunities that create a diverse work environment.
Nominations are due by July 31st
Winners will be selected by a special task force of MACPA’s Board of Directors and recognized at the Women to Watch Award event on September 18th.
